What stands out about this image to me from the rest of your gallery is the emotional poignancy contained within, and I think the wonderful composition and excellent framing is largely responsible. It has an excellent sense of balance, and benefited from the fortunate complementary nature of the icy blue and orange tiger, while the play of white throughout somehow serves to tie the image together. It also benefited greatly from a nice amount of focus on the tiger, making the extreme foreground and the background blend softly out to support the rest of the image.

But really, the true strength of the image is the emotional aspect. It's the kind of animal photo that is truly a portrait - something that seems to capture their spirit and soul and emotion as well as just their physical appearance, something that makes the image so very appealing to us humans. You've made it extraordinarily easy to implant our thoughts and feelings into this tiger, and thus charged it with an immense amount of potential, making it immediately attractive.

Extremely well done.

This is an incredible shot. It's so full of emotion! The tiger looks so apprehensive and deep in thought. I love how you've captured the sun on his forehead, it brings my attention towards his eyes.
The perspective that you've captured this shot at is an incredible one as well. I've seldom seen a close up of the face where it looks really emotional and where it's been done this well.
The colors between the blue snow and the tiger contrast each other nicely as well. You seem to have put some thought behind that so that the snow had the blue hint to it. Had the snow been purely white it wouldn't have made such an impact.
Overall this is an absolutely incredible shot!

Thanks! And it's not too bad... it's sometimes tough to get good shots through the gate, but it really depends where the animal is in the exhibit. ^^

Aww, thanks! ^^ A lot of it is luck and my zoom lens. lol I don't usually use tripods cause it's hard to turn them fast enough when the animals are moving.
